Baby Shower Party Games

hower Party GamesA baby shower is one of the best ways to celebrate an upcoming birth and to help out the parents to be with items they may need. Babies are expensive and throwing a shower for one of your best friends or relatives is a great way to help out with that expense. But in order to throw a baby shower, you need to do some planning. You need a theme and some entertainment for the guests. This means you need to have some planned party for the baby shower.

Make sure you have some small knick knacks to hand out as prizes for the winners of the party games. Also, do not forget to take plenty of pictures. Creating a photo album for the mom to be is a great gift. She will appreciate looking back on the fond memories of her baby shower. So what kinds of baby shower games are fun?

Guess the Diaper Pins is a party game that can be introduced at the start of the shower. Have a clear glass jar and fill it with diaper pins. Have a few pens and pieces of paper around. Let each guest write their guess of how many diaper pins are in the jar. Once everyone has their guesses written down, announce how many pins are in the jar. The person who guessed closest to the correct number wins a prize.

Timed puzzle games are also fun and great filler activities. There are several party games that can be played with very little effort and preparation. You can do a baby crossword puzzle, baby word scramble or baby search a word. All it takes is a little time with a word processor and then print several sheets for the guests. Another great times game is to have each guest list as many baby items as possible in a particular amount of time. The person who completes each puzzle game the fastest wins a prize.

Crafts are another great way to incorporate a fun party game with something useful for the bride to be. One idea is to get some paint pens and clothes pins. Have each person decorate the clothespin however they want in a baby theme. When complete, have a contest to see which clothes pin the mom to be likes best. The winner gets a prize and the mom gets to keep all the clothespins that can be used in the nursery.

Another fun baby shower party game takes a little bit of planning but is very fun and well worth the effort. Have each guest bring a baby picture and a current picture of themselves. Create a collage of the current pictures across the top numbered. Mix up the baby pictures and put them below the adult pictures with numbers. Have each guest match the adult picture with the baby picture by numbering a piece of paper with the adult photos and putting the corresponding number to the correct baby picture beside it. The person who gets the most correct wins a prize.

All these baby shower party games are a lot of fun and are fairly inexpensive to plan and implement. The shower will be a lot of fun for the mom to be as well as the guests. Also, the new parents will have some useful gifts for their new baby.

    Planning a Baby Shower Menu

Throwing a party for a mother to be is a great way of showing her how special she is. There will be many things to consider before the day of the party such as who to invite and what games to play, but neither of those things are as important as the perfect baby shower menu.

Having a party means lots of planning and plenty of preparation. The most memorable part is always the food so you will want to have a great menu.

There will be many things to consider before setting up the menu such as how many people are coming, what type of food preferences everyone has, and your time restrictions. Once you have figured those things out you will be ready to plan your baby shower.

    Menu ideas

Deciding on the right baby shower menu is the most important part of the party. The important thing is to make it fun and give everyone plenty of choices.

Do remember to find out what everyone likes and plan something for both vegetarians and others who have special eating needs. It is also important to find out if anyone has specific food allergies. Someone with an allergic reaction could cause a lot of problems during your party. There are many options to choose from for your party menu.

Appetizers: Appetizers are generally finger foods that you serve at the beginning of the festivities. Some good choices are tortilla roll ups with cream cheese and meat or vegetables, veggies and dip is always a great choice, spinach dip with pita chips, and chips and salsa. An important thing to remember is that you are hosting a party for a pregnant woman and you should go easy on the spices when preparing foods. It would be sad if the most memorable event she went away with was heartburn.

Punch: The punch bowl is the most common gathering spot at any party. There are several luscious punch options to choose from and each one delivers a tasty drink that everyone will be talking about. There is a fabulous sparkling grape punch which combines white grape juice and sparkling lemon-lime soda, or you may want to make a yummy sherbet punch that has pineapple juice and a scoop of sherbet.

Some women know what the sex of their baby is and if this is the case you can serve a colored punch that reflects this fact. Use pink lemonade or blue raspberry drink along with some ginger ale to give it a little kick.

Salad: The best main dish for a baby shower is some type of salad. Chinese chicken salad is always a hit and it offers a great variety of options. Another great option is a chicken salad with apples and grapes in it. Either one will be a great addition to any shower.

Cake: No celebration would be complete without an amazing cake. There are many different options at most bakeries and some of them will even customize one for you.

Throwing a great party is easy when you plan ahead, and with the perfect baby shower menu yours is sure to be a success.
